Avocet is located three minutes from Interstate 91, the major highway running from New Haven to Montreal. It is the sole occupant of a clean, comfortable, spacious commercial building on Massachusetts Route 2, also known as The Mohawk Trail.
The recording environment consists of a large (21 x 26) control room with tuned JBL , Tannoy and Mackie monitors; a 27 x34 main room with Hammond B-3 ,Kurzweil K2500s, Marshall and Fender amps; a 13 x 22 and 6 x 10 isolation booths with lines of sight to the main room and control room.
Directions: from I-91 north or south take Route 2 West 2 miles to Avocet.
From Albany and points west: take Route 2 to Shelburne (8 miles past the village of Shelburne Falls), watch for Shelburne Falls Coffee Roasters on the right, go 1 more mile to Avocet, the blue building up the hill on your left.
